Finley Pfardrescher is a sophomore at the University of Mississippi pursuing a Business Management degree. He is a well-rounded student interested in academics, athletics, and community involvement. He is an active Delta Tau Delta fraternity member, participating in charitable activities and social events. He is also an accomplished diver, having spent much of his high school years competing at a high level. Despite his busy schedule, he strives to balance his academic goals, athletic pursuits, and personal passions.

Early Life and Family 

Born in 2004, Finley was raised in McKinney, Texas, where he was the oldest of two brothers. His younger brother, Hayes, is in his senior year of high school. His parents, Jason and Doris Pfardrescher, have played an essential role in shaping his values and supporting him through various endeavors. Their encouragement has allowed Finley to pursue his interests and maintain a strong sense of faith and responsibility.

High School Achievements 

Finley graduated from McKinney Boyd High School in 2023. A standout athlete, he earned four varsity letters in diving and served as the Dallas Metroplex Diving team captain. His dedication to the sport was evident in his impressive diving scores, which earned him multiple school records. His best performance in the 1-meter springboard event was a score of 232 in the 6-dive competition, while his highest score in the 1-meter ten dive was 320.4. He also achieved a remarkable score of 355.14 in the 1-meter 11 dive, showcasing his technical skill and competitive edge.

In addition to his diving achievements, Finley worked hard to maintain his physical fitness. He participated in cross-fit training for two years and followed an intense weightlifting program for a year. His weightlifting routine involved training four to five times per week to increase muscle mass and improve his overall strength, which directly contributed to his performance as a diver.

Involvement in Other Activities 

While diving was his primary athletic pursuit, Finley also found time to explore other interests in high school. He was involved in his school’s broadcast news network, reporting stories affecting the school and the local community. This experience gave him a glimpse into the world of journalism and the importance of staying informed and connected with the people around him.

Additionally, Finley participated in his school’s theatre program, acting in plays and TV commercials from the sixth to the ninth grade. These performances were part of the University of Texas-Austin’s University Interscholastic League (UIL) and allowed him to develop his creativity.

His interest in acting extended beyond the stage when he was cast in the independent feature film Dear Leo, which was produced in November 2020. The film, which tells the story of a young woman transitioning from high school to college, featured Finley as “Jared M.” This opportunity helped him explore his passion for film and media, adding another layer to his skill set.

College Experience 

Finley fully engages in his academic studies and extracurricular activities at the University of Mississippi. As a business management student, he is focused on preparing for a successful career after graduation. He is also deeply involved in campus life, being an active Delta Tau Delta fraternity member. Through his fraternity, he has connected with fellow students, participated in social events, and contributed to charitable efforts that benefit the university and the community.

Despite the demands of his college coursework, Finley continues to pursue his love for diving. The sport's pressure and the opportunity to work alongside a team motivate him to push himself further. His passion for diving remains strong, and he continues to dedicate time to training and improving his skills.

Another of Finley’s significant interests is cars. He is a founding Ole Miss Car Club member, dedicated to car shows, meet-ups, and cruises. Although his busy college schedule limits his involvement in these activities, Finley continues to follow the automotive world with great interest, keeping up with everything from vintage vehicles to modern sports cars and custom modifications.

Personal Interests

Finley has many hobbies outside of his academic and athletic commitments. As an avid sports fan, he supports several professional teams, including the Dallas Cowboys, the Dallas Mavericks, and the Houston Astros. He is also a loyal fan of Ole Miss sports, enthusiastically following the school’s teams. His love for sports is not just about watching; he enjoys participating in them and engaging in various intramural sports when his schedule allows.

In addition to sports, Finley enjoys snowboarding, which provides a fun and challenging outlet during winter. He also likes to unwind by watching movies and listening to music, which offers a relaxing escape from his busy routine.

Core Values and Faith 

At the core of Finley’s character is his strong faith, which plays a central role in his life. His faith keeps him grounded and helps him maintain a positive attitude, even when facing challenges. He strives to live by the values of compassion and kindness, always looking out for the well-being of those around him. His family, especially his parents, has instilled these values in him, providing him with a support system that helps him navigate the ups and downs of life.

Plans for the Future 

Looking ahead, Finley has big plans for his future. He is preparing for an internship at Well Go USA, a film distribution company in Plano, Texas. While this opportunity will provide valuable professional experience in the film industry, he is committed to completing his degree in business management. Although he is still uncertain about his career's direction, he is confident that combining his academic studies and extracurricular involvement will help him succeed in whichever path he chooses.

Finley focuses on making the most of his college years, excelling in his studies, improving as a diver, and exploring new opportunities for personal and professional growth. He understands the importance of balance and hard work and is determined to make the most of every opportunity that comes his way.
